Ideas on how to save money

As the title of this post suggests, this blog will attempt to give
you ideas on how to save money.

Maybe its leftover from student living, but I think most folks
could stand to be a little more frugal. I'm not saying don't go out
and treat yourself. Usually we save for the bigger purchases in life.
It's the small things that tend to add up and cost us more than we
realise.

If you do something over and over and over again, I'm sure you would
agree that cutting back here and there can save a huge amount in the
long run.

So, tip number one:
Try using energy saving lightbulbs.

They don't work well in all situations. Some people hate them but they
might have used them in the wrong setting. An 11 watt bulb will give out
the equivalent light output of a 50 watt incandescent bulb. Usually it will
say "60 watt" on the packaging but this is usually a little optimistic.
Using an 11 w bulb to work under is not a great idea, a higher wattage would
be better.
If you leave lights on for long periods of time, or go out and need to keep burglars
deterred they are the ideal thing. They will keep your house safe while saving you
energy and money!
